It’s around 6 PM when two vehicles, a white Citroen van and a black Audi, collide head-on. After the impact, the Audi loses control and crashes into another parked vehicle. From that moment, panic breaks out. An hour of chaos, screams, and fear.
The young people (according to the statements of some witnesses, of North African origin and in their twenties) are about six in total and start beating each other savagely. A machete also appears, among those present some say they saw pistols. There was also a rumor that there had been gunshots, later denied by the police. The police have initiated investigations into the weapons in the possession of the young people and do not rule out the presence of pistols (to be ascertained, if applicable, whether they were real or not).
Two on the ambulance
The call to 112 is immediate, as is their arrival on site; both police headquarters officers and local police are present.
The State Police officers then enter the tobacconist’s shop a few meters away, to ask for access to the surveillance footage. Meanwhile, seeing the patrol cars arrive, most of the young people fled; one of them, a resident who saw him from his home balcony recounts, “ran away while his head was still bleeding”. Two, however, are loaded onto the ambulance, shirtless, while operators provide them with first aid; one has his head bandaged.
Bloodstains, glass, car parts
Everything is on the ground: bloodstains, glass, car parts, shoes and caps lost during the brawl. It is not clear whether the incident itself triggered the anger of the two ‘factions’, or if they had arranged a real meeting, perhaps to settle outstanding scores between rival gangs.
Before the eyes of passers-by
Everything happened in the street, near the Sigma supermarket, before the eyes of customers who were in the outdoor area of the Lucky bar. Among them, some lean towards the hypothesis of a settling of scores: “I had been seeing those guys around here for a few days – says a citizen living in the area -. In my opinion, the two groups know each other and really wanted to meet today, to confront each other”.
The road remained closed to traffic to allow the police to carry out the necessary surveys and investigations; the investigations continue, starting from surveillance videos and eyewitness accounts, in order to identify the remaining perpetrators of the violence.
