Correggio (Reggio Emilia), August 9, 2026 – Correggio’s fame was until now also due to the famous and now historic film «Radiofreccia» by Luciano Ligabue, shot when the famous rocker was at the beginning of his artistic career, telling in his own way the «village» that gave him birth and the places of the Reggio plain to which he still remains very attached. But now the deeds of someone who enjoys shooting arrows against the walls of suburban shacks, as well as against external areas of houses, risk becoming known as well. These are absolutely reckless and potentially very dangerous acts: if the arrow hits a window, for example, it can penetrate into the rooms, posing a risk to people and potentially causing fatal consequences.
The owners of a house in Canolo noticed the ‘archer’
The owners of a house in Canolo, a small hamlet of Correggio, noticed the action of an «archer» when they discovered a dart largely stuck inside a wooden support at roof height. The surprise expressed by the owners was understandable when, looking up, they noticed the arrow stuck on the roof. The dart was mostly embedded in the wood: a sign that it was shot with a bow capable of launching the pointed object with considerable force. These are arrows shot with bows usually freely sold, provided the buyer is of legal age. The homeowners, worried, reported the incident to the carabinieri.

Investigations to identify the shooter
Investigations have been launched to identify the shooter. This is not the first time similar episodes have occurred: so far, however, some arrow fragments had been found against wooden shack walls, often used as tool sheds, turned by some «archer» into targets to shoot the dart at. But so far, no such episodes have been reported in densely populated areas. Also in the same area, recently, stone and various object throwing against passing cars have been reported: incidents that occurred not only in Correggio but also in nearby San Martino in Rio. These are often acts carried out by groups of teenagers, who are also the focus of local authorities, engaged against violent bullying and youth degradation, which has been affecting the area for some time.
