Their prompt intervention was crucial: it could have ended much worse. Upon the arrival of the officers, several youths involved in the fight fled. On the ground there were three injured: two 19-year-olds and a 23-year-old, all stabbed. They were rushed to the ‘Bufalini’ hospital in Cesena in serious condition. One of them underwent emergency chest surgery during the night.
The carabinieri have identified some of those involved in the fight. So far no one has been arrested or charged. But the investigations are just beginning. After hearing the first witnesses, the officers will also interview the injured (as soon as their conditions allow) and review footage from the area’s cameras. At the moment it is unclear what triggered the fight.
