Ancona, August 20, 2026 – A lot of fear this morning for a group of hikers who were doing a trek in the bocchette area in the Passo Dagnola zone, in the Municipality of Andalo, in Trentino, at about 2,000 meters high.

One of the group members, a 19-year-old resident of Ancona, was struck by lightning, but survived, literally miraculously.
The young man was rescued after being hit by the electric discharge. Slightly injured and in a strong state of shock, he was airlifted to the ‘Santa Chiara’ hospital in Trento.
The rescue helicopter also arrived on site
The call to the single emergency number 112 came around 10:30 from the hiking companions. The Single Emergency Center requested the intervention of the rescue helicopter while some operators from the Molveno Station of the Trentino Alpine and Speleological Rescue made themselves available at the helipad to assist in the operations.

The helicopter managed to fly over before the weather conditions worsened, boarding in two rotations, besides the young man whose health conditions fortunately turned out not to be serious, also all the group members, shaken by the event.
Yesterday on the Marmolada two climbers were trapped
Last night on the Marmolada glacier, two 39-year-old climbers, residents respectively in Milan and in the province of Oristano, were trapped at 3,070 meters due to the cold and called for help. After an initial attempt to approach on foot from Passo Fedaia due to bad weather, the opening of a favorable weather window allowed the rescue helicopter to recover them with the winch and bring them down.
