Reggio Emilia, August 21, 2026 – Municipal contributions continue to support expenses incurred by citizens who are victims of predatory crimes. The fund, initially intended for damage to parked vehicles, has been expanded to include home burglaries, pickpocketing, muggings, and damage caused by thefts from cars or homes, including expenses for the replacement or repair of locks and windows. Applications can be submitted until December 31, 2026, or until available resources are exhausted. The fund, financed at the beginning of the year with 15,300 euros, was recently increased by another 5,000 euros and now has over 15,000 euros available.

The first 32 requests have already been paid, totaling 5,392 euros. The administration has also planned an additional funding of 15,300 euros for 2027, to ensure continuity of the measure. The contribution can be up to 250 euros and cover 70% of the expenses actually incurred and documented.

To obtain it, you must be a resident of the Municipality of Reggio, be up to date with the payment of the Tari, and submit documentation related to the repair or replacement of damaged goods. The application must be accompanied by a copy of the report filed with the authorities, an identity document, and documentation of expenses, indicating the goods or services purchased and the related payment receipt.

If insurance is present, it is also necessary to attach the policy and any documentation relating to compensation or deductibles. The contribution can also be recognized when the insurance has covered only part of the damage or has applied a deductible. Exclusion applies instead in the case of full compensation or when the same expenses have been used to obtain tax deductions or other incentives. Requests are examined in chronological order.

The application must be submitted within 45 days of the event. It can be submitted online through the Municipality’s website with Spid or Cie or, by appointment, by contacting the Ervis victims of crime desk at Punto Comune in via Turri 25.
