Pesaro, July 14, 2026 – She didn’t have time to see her wish come true, Bruna Recanati, who a few months ago had told our newspaper about the impossibility of finding a rental apartment due to her age, despite receiving a good pension. She passed away just a couple of days before she could move into her new home. Because after the appeal she made through Il Carlino, the tenacity and love of her family, and the work of the Serenissima real estate agency in Montecchio that had taken her cause to heart, Bruna had finally managed to find an apartment, in the Vismara district, thanks to the availability of Mr. Franco who immediately decided to rent it to her after reading her story in these pages.

Bruna’s appeal and the response: an available apartment found
“For old people like me, even if we can pay, they don’t want to give us the apartment – said the 78-year-old lady, recounting what had been happening to her for months during the search for a place to rent –. I feel offended in my dignity.”
She left a fantastic and indelible memory in all the people who knew her
The illness and hospitalization
Yet someone had responded to that heartfelt appeal and an available apartment for Bruna had finally arrived. Unfortunately, however, as her family recounts, two days before moving into her new home she felt unwell and was hospitalized in hospital, where she passed away without having the chance to enjoy even a day in her long-desired home.
She never backed down when someone needed a hand, she was a person with a big heart
Endless affection for Bruna, the memory of her family
The children, Emj and Enrico, and her entire family are receiving many expressions of esteem and affection for Bruna these days. “She left a fantastic and indelible memory in all the people who knew her – says Francesca Guidi, partner of her son Enrico -. With her simplicity, her sweetness, but also with her straightforwardness that showed her to be true and genuine, she had truly won everyone over. Bruna – she continues – was a well-known person because for years she had worked in the city’s hotels as a cook and was also very appreciated by the young people who over the years worked alongside her. Bruna was able to unite different generations as well – adds Francesca Guidi – she never backed down when someone needed a hand, she was a person with a big heart and indeed even now, many people who have been informed of her passing are calling us to remember her.”
Bruna’s funeral at the church of Cattabrighe
Guidi concludes: “Our whole family is very grateful to Mr. Franco who was the only one who opened the door to Bruna when she was looking for a home, even though she was not able to move in, but also – the family concludes emotionally – Linda from the Serenissima real estate agency, who had really taken the case to heart.”
For those who want to pay their last respects to Mrs. Bruna Recanati, the funeral will be held this afternoon at 3:30 pm at the church of Cattabrighe.
