Ancona, August 31, 2026 – The scooter lying on the pavement in the middle of the avenue, the small car with the hazard lights on just ahead, and all around, groups of young people who arrived running. The Viale della Vittoria last night, just before 11 p.m., stopped at the height of the Monument to the Fallen: a seventeen-year-old was taken away in critical condition after his scooter collided with a Smart during an overtaking maneuver.
The dynamics
The dynamics are under investigation by the police patrols, who carried out the surveys and collected testimonies. The initial picture is this: two young people were traveling on the scooter towards Passetto and had just started to overtake the car when it turned left; the indicator, according to witnesses, would have turned on only a moment before the maneuver. It was impossible to avoid the collision. The scooter driver, a seventeen-year-old Italian, was thrown off the seat and hit a road sign pole: the leg trauma is serious; the passenger fell onto the asphalt.

The rescue
The first aid was provided by the occupants of the Smart themselves, who stopped immediately and, with the help of a passerby, assisted the two injured until the arrival of the medical personnel, visibly shaken. The emergency number 112 was alerted, and two ambulances arrived on the avenue: the Red Cross took charge of the seventeen-year-old, transported in critical condition to Torrette and taken without delay to the emergency room, while the Yellow Cross of Camerano accompanied the friend to the emergency room of the same hospital. Within a few minutes, family members and friends of the two boys arrived on the scene, and the avenue filled with anxiety, between those seeking news and those trying to reconstruct what happened. For the more seriously injured young man, the night was spent under observation: the leg is the most compromised part, and the next few hours will clarify the extent of the injuries.
