Forlì, August 31, 2026 – A helmet broken on the ground, a devastated motorcycle, a life cut short. His last motorcycle ride, Pietro De Lorenzi, a 27-year-old from Forlì, took alone. At dawn yesterday. At 4:30 his clock stopped ticking. Forever. His parents were waiting for him at home. But he never returned. He did not open that door, quietly, so as not to disturb them. Mother and father, both veterinarians, were notified by the authorities of the boundless tragedy as the light was about to illuminate the sky. A moment before, Pietro’s earthly light was going out.
Like every Saturday he had gone to work like every Saturday night at the Birreria di Faenza
Bartender, musician and many dreams in the drawer. He had gone to work like every Saturday night at the Birreria di Faenza. He was riding his large-displacement motorcycle, a BMW R80gs. He was traveling the Via Emilia, coming from Faenza, when (arriving in the Villanova district) he began the maneuver to enter the flower roundabout.
He was alone, no one else on the road. It seems that the wheel of his motorcycle hit the curb of the outer sidewalk in the roundabout entry lane, and he was suddenly thrown onto the asphalt. The helmet broke, and Pietro died instantly.
On site the Forlì traffic police intervened, alerted by the police headquarters which received a call from a motorist. The police are working to reconstruct the accident and yesterday morning the Forlì Prosecutor’s Office was notified. It seems the large-displacement motorcycle fell on him. The 118 emergency medical personnel who arrived could do nothing but confirm the death.

Pietro was passionate about music, comics, and engines
Pietro De Lorenzi, 27-year-old from Forlì, had many passions. He was passionate about music, comics and naturally motorcycles. Which, as friends explain, “he had always ridden cautiously.” He worked as a bartender to chase his dreams, linked to the studies he had done after high school. He studied drums at the music high school and then a master’s in sound engineering to create soundtracks for video games.
He attended the Cosascuola Music Academy in Forlì, where he played drums and then completed a course in Music Technology to become a composer of electronic music for video games. He was supposed to leave at the end of summer for Canada. There, a friend would support him for the life change.
The pain of friends: “We could count on him at any moment”
He had said goodbye to friends from music school at the beginning of summer. He leaves behind his parents and his older sister who studies abroad. “He was a very sunny, lively person – friends remember – generous, a person with heart. His parents did everything to allow him to fulfill himself in life. We could count on him at any moment, he was present.”
The BMW R80gs was a powerful motorcycle, a bike for enthusiasts, a bike that accompanied him on his travels around the world in recent years. With it, he had reached Stelvio. It was his mother, yesterday morning, who informed the friends. Phones started ringing at dawn.
