Ancona, July 15, 2026 – Over 111 kilograms of pure cocaine hidden in a false bottom made in the cabin of a truck. This is the result of a large anti-drug operation conducted by the Ancona Finance Police, which led to the arrest of three people and the seizure of a batch of drugs destined, according to investigators’ estimates, to generate illegal market profits of about 20 million euros.

The Finance Police raid and the drug exchange
The activity, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Ancona, was carried out by the officers of the Economic-Financial Police Unit through a series of surveillance services in the main commercial exchange areas of the Marche region. Investigators identified a car considered of investigative interest and followed its movements up to the Parma hinterland.
Here the officers witnessed a suspicious meeting between the car and a heavy vehicle. Two men got out of the car and handed over some bags to the truck driver. At that point, the control was triggered.

In the truck’s false bottom there were 100 bricks of cocaine
The inspection of the truck allowed the identification of a sophisticated false bottom made in the cabin, where 100 bricks of cocaine had been hidden. The total weight of the drug exceeds 111 kilograms. During the searches, about 19 thousand euros in cash were also seized, considered by investigators as the agreed payment for transporting the drug.
By order of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Parma, competent for the territory, the three suspects – of Albanian and Romanian nationality – were arrested on charges of drug trafficking and transferred to the prison of the Emilian city, where they remain at the disposal of the judicial authority.
