Parma, September 5, 2026 – It was a Facebook live that triggered the alarm and allowed the carabinieri to intervene to stop a story of violence that had been going on for months. The officers of the Collecchio company, in the Parma area, arrested a 30-year-old man accused of mistreating his partner. At the end of the validation hearing, the judge confirmed the arrest and ordered preventive custody in prison for the suspect. Help had been requested by some acquaintances of the woman, who had witnessed a live broadcast on social media in which the 30-year-old allegedly brandished a large kitchen knife, threatening his partner. The alarm reached the carabinieri on the morning of August 29, when the officers went to the couple’s home.

On that first occasion, however, the woman had tried to downplay what happened. The officers had noticed a wound on her temple, which the partner had attributed to a minor domestic accident. The evidence collected and the testimonies of acquaintances, however, revealed a picture considered more worrying, enough to activate the procedures provided by the ‘Red Code’ to protect the victim.
The second intervention: there was a knife on the table
The situation reportedly worsened a few hours later. A report of a new live broadcast on social media arrived at the emergency number 112, in which the man allegedly attacked his partner again. The carabinieri returned to the home and this time faced a scene that confirmed the seriousness of the situation: a cabinet door had been torn off, there was a kitchen knife on the table, and a new abrasion appeared on the woman’s face.
Only after seeing her partner removed by the officers did the woman find the strength to tell what, according to her testimony, had been happening for months. A story of physical violence, threats, and blackmail, which allowed investigators to reconstruct a picture of mistreatment deemed sufficient to proceed with the arrest. The man was then taken to prison. The preventive measure was ordered by the judge after the validation hearing, while investigations into the case and the facts reported by the woman continue. Particularly important, at the start of the intervention, was the role of the people who witnessed the images shared on social media and immediately decided to call the authorities.
