Bologna, September 7, 2026 – “I was raped by a colleague during the work shift we were doing together.” This is the cry for help from a woman to the carabinieri of Castel San Pietro. They have just executed a judge’s order that imposes house arrest on a 57-year-old Italian man with a police record.

He is under investigation for sexual violence.
The measure was issued at the request of the Bologna Prosecutor’s Office which coordinated the investigations.

The woman had been recently hired by the same cooperative as the 57-year-old and that work shift together turned into a nightmare.
The man, immediately after the abuse, allegedly threatened her: if she told anyone about the incident, he would have her fired.
The woman called the carabinieri, reporting that she had been raped by a colleague during a work shift.

The ‘Red Code’ is triggered
On this occasion, by order of the duty prosecutor, the ‘Red Code’ was quickly activated, as provided for victims of domestic and gender-based violence.
The victim, the carabinieri report, was taken to the Emergency Room through a protected and reserved healthcare access path, also called ‘Pink Code’.
The investigations carried out by the officers led to the identification of the alleged perpetrator, who was arrested and is now under house arrest.
