The first episode occurred on Saturday night, before dawn. When two 30-year-old men, Pakistani citizens, decided to walk down the alley of the historic market (the shutters of the businesses were all closed, considering the time) to reach a pizzeria and eat a slice of pizza. On the way, they were surrounded by four individuals, including a young Moroccan and three Senegalese, who approached under the pretext of selling them some drugs. When the pair refused, the dealers lost control: one of them pulled a knife from his pocket, pointing it at the faces of the two unfortunate men.

The episode at dawn

While one 30-year-old managed to escape, the other was beaten and severely assaulted, hit with bare hands. Meanwhile, the criminals stole a wallet and an electric bike worth 1,000 euros from one Pakistani and an expensive phone and some change from the other. After the robbery, the four moved a few meters away, leaving the two victims where they had encountered them.

One of the two victims managed to contact the authorities only a few hours after the incident. Shortly after six in the morning, the carabinieri from the Corticella station arrived on the scene. The officers first contacted 118 upon seeing that one of the young men was lying on the ground showing signs of the brutal attack. The thirty-year-old could not even speak. The medical staff then took care of the injured man.

Meanwhile, the other victim told the carabinieri what had happened, identifying the robbers a little further ahead. The officers then reached a group of six people, among whom were the four involved in the assault. However, seeing them approach, the dealers fled, scattering in different directions. The perpetrators are being actively sought: investigations and inquiries have been entrusted to colleagues from the Navile station.

The second episode

But it doesn’t end there, because beyond the usual dynamics of drug dealing and consumption that grip the Albani Market area from dusk, another bloody episode occurred within 24 hours causing another injury. This time, caused by a cutting weapon. The victim could not describe what kind of instrument it was. Upon the police’s arrival, at dawn yesterday, again near Albani Market, officers found a man lying on the ground with several wounds on his body. In a confused state, he told the police he had been attacked by two unknown individuals. The young man was taken to Maggiore hospital for treatment.

Some residents and a shopkeeper who was opening his business contacted 113. The citizens reported to the police a fight involving 3-4 individuals.

No hypothesis is excluded: it could have been a settling of scores related to drug dealing or an assault for robbery as happened the day before. A local shopkeeper recorded the bloodstains left by the injured after being struck. Capturing the presence of police and medical personnel at 5 in the morning: “It’s something you shouldn’t see,” he says while filming the blood-covered ground.
