On September 15 Alessandro would have turned 35: music and PlayStation tournaments to remember him
A flood of memories and music for Alessandro Ambrosio, the train conductor killed in the station with a stab in the back last January 5 while, off duty, he was going to meet a friend. Ambro’s parents had promised it would be a party full of all the things and people he loved. And so it was, today in Anzola, at the venue ‘Le Notti di Cabiria’, to pay tribute to him a few days before his birthday: September 15 he would have turned 35. PlayStation tournaments and beer pong, roast meat and beans as if there were no tomorrow and above all music, lots of music, with the afternoon jam session and then the concert by Gli Atroci in the evening.
“A party among friends through everything Ambro loved”
Luigi, Alessandro’s father, also performed, among the musician friends. They wanted to say a few words: “Not a commemoration – the words of Marco Venturelli, singer of About:blank, Ambro’s band –, but a party among friends through what Ambro loved. This is the slogan we decided to use and we think the meaning of all this is well captured in this phrase. If we think about it, each of us has experienced Ambro differently, some for a lifetime, some for only a phase. So how to live this day all the same way? Maybe not the same way, but through what he loved.”
All this “has spontaneously built itself around the idea of recreating what would have been the perfect day for Ambro.” This day “is born from Ambro, but speaks of everyone. Because each of us knows and carries in the heart someone who would deserve a party like this.”

Next to Marco, and next to his father on stage also comes Ambro’s partner, Francesca Ballotta, who wears the shirt with Ambrosio’s print while playing. Music was his life and his parents Luigi and Elisa, his girlfriend, friends have been living an endless agony for months, while the trial of Marin Jelenic, 36, a Croatian homeless man now in prison and the only defendant for the crime, is underway: next hearing before the Court of Assizes on September 23.
