Ravenna, September 15, 2026 – The attempted theft lasted only a few moments, but it was enough to alert the residents. It happened last night in Prada di Russi, where two people, according to the page Facebook Ravenna Sos Sicurezza, allegedly tried to carry out a theft. The incident was recorded by a camera and the footage was then shared on social media.

The video shared on social media
The event is recounted by Alberto Emiliani, administrator of the WhatsApp chat Sos Russi and of the more than 80 Sos chats active in the Ravenna province area, as well as of the Ravenna Sos Sicurezza page. “This is the video of the attempted theft last night in Prada di Russi,” he writes in the post accompanying the footage.
The video shows two people taking action, only to desist and quickly leave. According to Emiliani’s reconstruction, what made them flee was precisely that “protection perimeter” made up of the network of citizens who, through neighborhood chats, keep in touch and report suspicious movements or situations.
The hypothesis of a third accomplice
The post also hypothesizes the presence of a third accomplice, who might have waited for the two in a vehicle to allow them a faster escape. However, this remains a supposition at the moment and is not confirmed by the footage alone.

The video was shared as testimony of a phenomenon that, especially during the evening and night hours, fuels the concern of residents of the hamlets and towns in the province.
“This is a direct testimony of what we are forced to endure every day”
“This is a direct testimony of what we are forced to endure every day”, Emiliani emphasizes. Beyond the outcome of the single episode, the Prada case thus highlights the role of neighborhood watch networks, used by citizens to promptly report suspicious presences and intrusion attempts.
