The tragedy for reasons yet to be ascertained
The tragedy occurred yesterday afternoon in the Lido Tre Archi neighborhood when, for reasons still under investigation, a discussion broke out between the victim of the brutal assault and a small group of young North Africans. It was just past 7 PM when, in via La Malfa, in front of the Tabù chalet, the 50-year-old was allegedly provoked by the group of North Africans who, according to collected testimonies, were in an altered state due to alcohol consumption. From there to the clash, only a few minutes passed, and at a certain point, a knife also appeared in the hand of one of the North Africans. The young man holding the weapon allegedly attracted the attention of the 50-year-old who turned towards him to defend himself, while one of the North Africans grabbed a large stone and hit him from behind on the head.
The victim collapsed to the ground unconscious
The victim stumbled to the ground unconscious and those present immediately realized the seriousness of what had happened. On the scene, alerted by a passerby, police officers from the flying squad, the Guardia di Finanza, 118 paramedics, and the Green Cross of Fermo immediately intervened. Upon their arrival, the victim was in cardiac arrest and showed no signs of life. After several desperate attempts, the paramedics managed to resuscitate the 50-year-old, then transported him in serious condition to the ‘Murri’ emergency room, where the man is fighting for his life.

Investigations launched to reconstruct the dynamics
Meanwhile, police investigators have launched investigations to reconstruct the dynamics of the bloody incident and have acquired images from the video surveillance system showing the faces of the attackers. In a short time, the police identified all those involved and the one who hit the victim on the head with a stone. At that point, a manhunt was launched by the police, starting from the area under the bridge connecting the neighborhood and Porto Sant’Elpidio, usually a refuge for local petty crime. The impression is that the group of North Africans’ time is running out.
