Colmurano (Macerata), July 18, 2026 – Tragic collision between car and motorcycle this evening, around 8:30 PM, on provincial road 78, at Passo Colmurano. A man and a woman riding a street motorcycle lost their lives. They are a 50-year-old man from Serravalle di Chienti and a 49-year-old woman from Visso. The couple was traveling towards Sarnano.

The motorcycle rear-end collision
According to initial reconstructions, the motorcycle suddenly, for reasons under investigation, rear-ended a van traveling in the same direction. The crash happened at the intersection for Urbisaglia, between via Setificio and the provincial road. Near the pizzeria. A witness, a former security guard, reportedly saw the motorcycle fly and fall back to the ground. He tried to assist the couple. One of the two people died instantly. The other was breathing poorly.
The rescue
The health operators who arrived immediately on the scene alerted the air ambulance. But shortly after, unfortunately, the second person on the two-wheeler also did not make it, despite attempts to resuscitate them.
