Bologna, June 5, 2026 – “Repentance, in him, has always been a constant. He demonstrated it immediately. And he immediately asked for forgiveness from the victims’ families”. Lawyer Milena Micele assists Marino Occhipinti, a former policeman and member of the Uno Bianca gang. Among the various actions he took part in, also the assault on the armored car in front of the Coop in Casalecchio, on the evening of February 19, 1988, when they shot at four security guards, including Carlo Beccari, not even 26 years old, a wife and a three-year-old daughter, Veronica. Beccari was killed in that assault and Roberto Savi, Fabio Savi, and Marino Occhipinti were sentenced to life imprisonment for his murder.

The latter, now 61 years old, a former policeman (born in Santa Sofia), was arrested on November 29, 1994. On December 14, 2011 he was granted semi-freedom and in July 2018 he was admitted to conditional release. In other words, he was free. But on August 10, 2022, the decree suspending conditional release (with a proposal for its revocation) intervened, and a few days later, on August 24, 2022, it was revoked by the Surveillance Court of Venice. Life imprisonment reinstated, so for him it’s back to square one. Occhipinti, in fact, pleaded guilty to two years for mistreatment of his new partner. Now, he has restarted a critical review process.

The lawyer: “Occhipinti had completed a journey”

One, for example, was given to him to participate in the Way of the Cross in Sarmeola di Rubano, in the Padua area, along with other detainees. He was accompanied by some social workers.
