Bologna, July 23, 2026 – **The home of Abderrahim Fakir**, the 42-year-old who died during a police containment intervention on Sunday morning in via Svevo, in Pilastro, **was searched**. **Medicines** were reportedly found in the house, and not much else of use, according to what has been learned.

Fakir’s cousin
In that circumstance, however, **Fakir’s cousin** (who lived with him) was asked to go with the police for questioning. But he didn’t want to, and so he refused. But this did not go unnoticed, so much so that **during yesterday’s citizens’ assembly** they shouted into the microphone that the house of what is actually the victim was being searched.
Lawyer Anselmo: “The investigations must be entrusted to another Body”
A view also shared by **Fakir’s family lawyer**, **Fabio Anselmo**, who will file a complaint for this fact: “A serious matter, we will obviously report it, we have several reports of incongruous behavior – explains Anselmo -. **I repeat that the investigations (which are by the Mobile Squad) must be entrusted to another Body**. And nothing justifies the police remaining on that body. Here **they are blaming what is the victim in this story**, the person who died. While they try to give absurd interpretations with what I would call grotesque details of everything that happened”.
Fakir’s emergency room access
Last **June 20**, shortly after 3 PM, **an emergency room access** was registered: it was Fakir, the reason stated ‘Psychiatric – concern for patient’s well-being’. Fakir had been brought to Maggiore Hospital by ambulance that day, after a self-harming act.
According to what has been learned, **he had wounds on one wrist**, **which he had probably inflicted on himself**.

It does not appear that he had been taken in charge by the Mental Health Center, but that day he said he was **depressed**, asked for help and asked to speak with a psychiatrist. For some time, **Fakir had been worried** – according to what has been learned – **about his job**, it seems his company was not doing well and, due to various problems, his residence permit renewal had also been denied. An appeal for international protection was pending.
Tg1 shows bodycam video
Meanwhile, today Tg1 showed **a segment of the video recorded by the bodycam** – and delivered to the Public Prosecutor’s Office – which, **as also reported by today’s Carlino**, was worn by one of the two police officers who intervened on Abderrahim Fakir. In the images, which date back to shortly after noon, the officers’ hands are seen on both Fakir and another man in a white t-shirt with whom he had come into contact.
“**There is a moment of contact with other people** who were near a car and who came into contact with him. At this point, it is clear that the police must intervene and resolve this situation,” explains lawyer Gabriele Bordoni.
