Rimini, July 27, 2026 – A fierce quarrel broke out in the kitchen of a hotel kitchen, which escalated within minutes into bloodshed, putting a person’s life at risk. A 45-year-old assistant cook was stabbed in the abdomen with a kitchen utensil by a 21-year-old colleague, at the height of an argument during their work shift. The man was taken to the hospital, where he underwent a surgical operation, while the young woman was reported by the carabinieri.

The quarrel
The incident dates back to Friday evening and took place inside the kitchen of a hotel in northern Rimini. According to the reconstruction by the carabinieri of the Viserba station, the two colleagues, both employed as assistant cooks, started arguing over trivial matters while at work.
The words quickly turned into actions. In the heat of the dispute, the 21-year-old allegedly grabbed a kitchen utensil and struck the colleague in the abdomen, seriously injuring him.
The alarm
Once the alarm was raised, rescuers arrived on the scene. The 45-year-old, after initial treatment, was urgently transported to the emergency room of the Bufalini hospital in Cesena, where doctors decided to perform surgery. At the end of treatment, he was diagnosed with a 40-day prognosis, barring any complications.
The investigation in the kitchen
Meanwhile, the carabinieri conducted investigations inside the kitchen, reconstructing the dynamics of the event and collecting testimonies from those present. The utensil used in the attack was seized and made available to the Rimini Public Prosecutor’s Office, which is coordinating the investigation.
The 21-year-old reported
At the end of the rapid checks, the officers reported the 21-year-old at liberty on charges of aggravated personal injury. All aspects that led to the outbreak of violence during the work shift and, above all, the reasons that led the girl to carry out such a brutal attack during the kitchen shift remain to be clarified. The military police are now focusing their investigations on these latter aspects.
