Ancona, August 5, 2026 – New elements emerge from the note released yesterday by the Ancona Prosecutor’s Office on the death of Oleksandr Muravskyi, the thirty-five-year-old Ukrainian who died Sunday in Senigallia following the chase and struggle with the carabinieri. The first concerns the arrest procedure: before dying, the man had been handcuffed. The second is a confirmation: Muravskyi died in the ambulance, after being sedated, without ever reaching the emergency room. It is also learned that in the preliminary note — the file opened by the Prosecutor’s Office led by Monica Garulli — six people should have been registered, among the military police and 118 medical personnel.
They are not under investigation, because for the Prosecutor’s Office they acted in the fulfillment of a duty, and none of them, at the moment, would have appointed a lawyer.
Autopsy performed
Yesterday afternoon, meanwhile, the autopsy was performed, entrusted to the consultant of the Legal Medicine department of the Torrette hospital appointed by the Prosecutor’s Office. Only the forensic doctor took part in the examination, no consultants were present representing the parties. The victim’s family members, to date, also do not appear to be assisted by a lawyer. It will be the forensic doctor’s report that must answer the two questions that the Prosecutor’s Office itself indicates as central: what was the cause of death and if, and how, the taser worked.
The dynamics: what happened that morning
The note then reconstructs the dynamics of that morning. Sunday Muravskyi was traveling on the Adriatic State Road 16 towards Pesaro-Ancona invading the opposite lane, “creating serious danger for other road users”: a behavior already documented in the Fano area.
In Senigallia the man’s car crossed paths, still driving the wrong way, with a Radiomobile patrol, forced to an emergency maneuver to avoid the collision. This led to the chase: at one point the man seemed to stop, then suddenly started again and rammed the police car. Getting out of the car, he was handcuffed by one wrist by the officers, but he struggled strongly.

One of the carabinieri fired a taser shot which however “could not contain him”: Muravskyi fled on foot and was stopped several meters ahead by a second patrol, then joined by the first and a police car from the station. Blocked and handcuffed, he continued to struggle violently, even biting an officer: at that point 118 was called. In the struggle other carabinieri were also bruised, treated in hospital and discharged shortly after.
Who was Muravskyi
News also on the man’s profile. Muravskyi was born in Ukraine on March 11, 1991 and lived in Poland, where, according to sources, he worked on offshore platforms. He had arrived in Italy with his family for a vacation, based in a hotel between Rimini and Riccione: the car he drove the wrong way on the State Road was his wife’s, a white BMW with a child seat on board, taken Friday after an argument with the woman.
The unresolved issues remain that only technical investigations can clarify: the taser that would not have stopped the man, and his real condition, that very strong alteration despite the first toxicological test having been negative.
