Pesaro, August 7, 2026 – A thirty-year-old resident of Pesaro was hit by a passing train during the night in Pesaro. The accident occurred around 2 a.m., about one hundred meters from the railway station, along the tracks heading towards Fano.

The alarm and the suspension of railway traffic
The alarm was raised immediately and railway traffic was suspended in both directions to allow the intervention of rescuers and all necessary investigations. Traffic remained blocked for about four hours, practically until dawn. On site, firefighters also intervened, engaged in operations until 6 in the morning. The area affected by the accident was reached by emergency teams and 118 personnel while the line was stopped for trains.

The circumstances of the tragedy remain unclear
The exact circumstances of the event remain to be clarified and, in particular, how and why the thirty-year-old was on the tracks at the moment the train arrived. The investigations by the railway police will also serve to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident. The nighttime blockage of the line, ordered in both directions, affected one of the main railway connections along the Adriatic coast. Only after the operations and checks on site was it possible to proceed towards reopening the route.
