Cervia (Ravenna), August 8, 2026 – A crossroads of nightlife, of customers from the nearby nightclubs, of truck drivers and even of those who lived up there. Like the 53-year-old Nicola Musiani born in Bologna but who had been living for some time on that square of Viale Tritone in Pinarella di Cervia, on the Ravenna coast. His home was a camper, not far from his father Giorgio’s caravan. At least until the night of last July 18. The first skirmishes around 11:30 p.m. with a 17-year-old: “Junkie”, the boy shouts at him, perhaps referring to his thinness and personal problems. And a few hours later, leaving the club, the young man comes back at him.
It is 4 a.m. and this time the minor is backed up by four friends aged between 19 and 23 who got out of a Punto, all like him residents in the Forlì area and of foreign origin. It is a massacre: Musiani is hit with stones and kicked in the side. He struggles but there is someone who throws a bike at him. So he tries to run away: they all chase him, catch up with him quickly, make him fall and kick, punch, and hit him with a bottle on the back and head causing a severe brain hemorrhage. The unfortunate man will be declared dead the following Wednesday at the ’Bufalini’ hospital in Cesena.
For that heinous massacre, the carabinieri yesterday arrested in the Forlì area the four adults who, according to the investigations by the Cervia Company and the Ravenna Investigative Unit, massacred the deceased. Two of them, who had left a couple of days ago to seek a vain escape in Morocco, decided to return only to immediately face the arrest warrant issued by Prosecutor Angela Scorza. They all must answer jointly for murder aggravated by trivial motives. Because in this story that grew in a dark square not even lit by the faint lights of the coastal nightlife, there is a crime but no precise motive. In fact, there had been no previous contact between the victim and his attackers. They did not know each other, probably had never even seen each other living such different lives. And that was enough for a spontaneous quarrel to divert the course of all their lives.

Investigations are all uphill since that square was not covered by video surveillance. Only two videos in the hands of the investigators: the first filmed by a cellphone showing a person quickly leaving the place. And the second recorded by a truck’s dash cam showing 7-8 people busy in the beating: little more than shadows. But starting from these images, the carabinieri managed to acquire other videos extracted from various surveillance cameras. The information, cross-checked with details drawn from databases and numerous testimonies and combined with phone and environmental wiretaps as well as surveillance services, allowed the identification of the four. Some of them had also been involved in similar episodes in a bar in the Forlì area. Now investigations continue to understand if there might have been someone else who raged against the 53-year-old.
