Musiani murder, the four boys investigated before the judge. And other names emerge. Mayor Lepore: “Vo

Forlì, August 10, 2026 – Three of them spoke, also mentioning other names: they claim to have been present but downplay their role in the fatal assault. The fourth invoked the right to remain silent. This is the outcome, according to the defense lawyers, of the hearing before the judge at the Forlì court for the four young people arrested for the murder of 54-year-old Nicola Musiani, brutally beaten on July 19 near a nightclub in Pinarella di Cervia and died on July 22 at the Cesena hospital.

The three who spoke are Conor Finn Long, 19 years old, Oussama Ragme, 22 years old, and Bilal Mahboubi, 23 years old; while Houssam Abir, 22 years old, did not respond. The public prosecutor requested the confirmation of detention for all four suspects.

“They answered the questions that were asked of them, providing elements that may be useful for the continuation of the investigations,” said lawyer Elia Valentini, defender of Conor Finn Long and Oussama Ragme, upon leaving the court.  “Above all – added the lawyer – they indicated a series of witnesses who were present at the event: I think they will be heard to ascertain the various responsibilities.”

As for the flight to Morocco of the two after Musiani’s death and their subsequent return to Italy, the lawyer explained that Conor and Oussama “were very scared of what had happened, so at first they decided to leave Italy but then thought about returning and their intention was to present themselves to the carabinieri and report what actually happened. In fact, they voluntarily returned to Italy and were then arrested.”

Bilal Mahboubi also named further individuals: “He answered and reconstructed the sequence of events for the part he witnessed, because he places himself in a very brief time frame,” explained lawyer Serena Sansavini. “He named the people he saw present, so now it will be up to the investigations to cross-check the names already known and verify if there are other names that need to be included in this investigative activity. He personally declares himself unrelated to the dynamics of the beating.”

Houssam Abir’s choice not to answer the judge’s questions was explained by his lawyer Fabio Malpezzi as follows: “We were only able to review the documents this morning. Regarding the charge, my client maintains different things, so we exercised the right to remain silent, but as soon as we can read the documents we will request to be interrogated.”

Thanks also to what emerged during the interrogations, investigations continue to identify all members of the group that allegedly fatally attacked Musiani. Investigators are reportedly on the trail of a fifth adult, while a minor, who allegedly triggered the beating with his insults, has already been reported to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office.

Meanwhile, Matteo Lepore, mayor of Bologna, the city where Musiani was born 53 years ago (but had lived for years in a camper parked right in the area where he was fatally attacked), intervenes for the first time.

“I want to express all my closeness to the family – said Lepore – to the father and friends who knew Nicola. As mayor of Bologna, I have asked the municipal legal office to consider joining as a civil party also in this judicial proceeding. According to what is known, Nicola was killed by a group of four, perhaps five attackers following a violent beating. People later arrested by the Carabinieri, to whom we extend our thanks. About him – concludes the mayor of Bologna – a moving tribute was written by Enrico Brizzi, who recounted their childhood together in the Saragozza neighborhood and the university period.”
