Imola, August 13, 2026 – Review the programming of the film festival Casale Cineforum, but above all the Region urges the Municipality of Casalfiumanese to withdraw its sponsorship for the event where on September 3 the participation of Report journalist and host Sigfrido Ranucci with his theatrical show ‘Diary of a Trapeze Artist – Chronicles of a Reporter’s Resilience.’ The appointment was initially scheduled for July 1, but was then moved to September.

The FdI request: “Inappropriate to give support while an investigative case full of shadows is ongoing”
The request comes from Marta Evangelisti, leader of the Brothers of Italy group in the Region, who highlights, in a question in the Legislative Assembly, “the institutional inappropriateness of offering a public platform, a defense by default, and its institutional seal to an investigative case still so full of shadows and contradictions.” This comes the day after the confession of Valter Lavitola regarding the attack suffered by the Report journalist.
“We consider it deeply inappropriate, as well as politically unacceptable, that the municipal administration of Casalfiumanese (Bologna) and the local ProLoco continue to maintain sponsorship and offer a public stage to the host of Report – explains the Meloni supporter –, rescheduling the event within an institutional showcase such as the 7th edition of the City Film Festival.”

Evangelisti continues: “The confession of the entrepreneur and former publisher, who before the judge at Rebibbia prison self-accused of being the material instigator of the dynamite attack against the journalist to ‘make him increase his security detail’ and boost his popularity, opens a chasm of questions about a case with extremely murky and opaque contours.”
“FdI carries forward a battle for transparency”
For Evangelisti, “while at the national level Brothers of Italy is carrying forward a necessary battle for transparency, demanding full clarity in the Rai Supervisory Commission, at the local level we witness an intolerable paradox. In the Bologna area, in fact, there is a deliberate choice to carry on regardless.” The FdI leader therefore requests “formal and immediate clarifications from the mayor and the council of Casalfiumanese. An act of responsibility is necessary: the administration should take a step back and immediately revoke its formal support.”
