The 32-year-old Italian entrepreneur who was injured while performing maintenance on an excavator of his company in via Mezzocolle in Imola did not make it.
The man was the victim of a very serious work accident yesterday, Thursday, August 20.

The 32-year-old was seriously injured yesterday afternoon while, at his company, he was performing maintenance on a JCB tracked excavator, model 65-R1.

Urgently airlifted to Maggiore Hospital in Bologna
The man was a construction entrepreneur residing in Imola and specialized in excavations, demolitions, and earthmoving.
Assisted by the 118 emergency medical service, the 32-year-old was urgently transported by helicopter to the emergency room of Maggiore Hospital in Bologna and hospitalized in critical condition. Unfortunately, the man did not survive and later died.
The carabinieri from the Dozza station intervened on site, while investigations are ongoing by the Occupational Medicine department of the Local Health Unit of Imola.
In June, Umberto Ravagnani lost his life
Last June there was another fatal work accident in Imola. In that case, the victim was a 55-year-old worker, Umberto Ravagnani, who fell from the roof during maintenance work at a mechanical company in via Serraglio.
The man died after several days of hospitalization due to the serious injuries sustained. Ravagnani was born in Crevalcore and lived in Reda, in the Faentino area. He was an employee of an external company, the former Lattoneria Imolese (now L’Imolese), engaged in renovation work on the factory roof.
The worker was immediately assisted after the fall by the 118 personnel, who arranged for his urgent transfer to Maggiore Hospital in Bologna.
