Parma, August 28, 2026 – What happened in a house on Largo Visconti, in Parma, where yesterday a 45-year-old woman, Sara Lodi, was found dead, is still unclear. Numerous wounds caused by a cutting weapon were found on the body, and large blood stains were found in the apartment. Two knives were seized by the carabinieri, now the focus of investigations.

The dynamics are uncertain
The dynamics remain uncertain at the moment. This was confirmed by the prosecutor of Parma, Alfonso D’Avino, who said it is “not at all clear” and, based on the current investigations, neither the hypothesis of murder nor that of suicide can be excluded. “At this stage – the prosecutor specifies – no concrete evidence has emerged against identified individuals.”

The Ris investigations
In the house, the carabinieri’s investigations have continued, joined by the Ris inspection team, engaged in analyzing the scene and searching for any useful elements to reconstruct what happened. Yesterday, in addition to the investigators of the Carabinieri and the on-duty public prosecutor, the medical examiner also intervened.
The prosecutor ordered the autopsy
The Prosecutor has ordered the autopsy, which will help clarify the causes and circumstances of death. The conditions of the apartment will also be examined in depth and the two seized knives analyzed. Scientific tests could provide decisive indications to establish whether the 45-year-old was the victim of an attack or if the wounds are attributable to a voluntary act.
