Pesaro, August 29, 2026 – They crossed the center of Pesaro breaking whatever they found along the way. It is the vandal raid carried out in the middle of the night, between Viale della Repubblica and State Road 16, by three boys.
And the young vandals were caught in action in a video that, in recent hours, has gone viral on social media. Now the hunt is on for those responsible: the investigation is entrusted to the local police who have started checking the public and private cameras in the area to try to identify them.
The anger of Mayor Andrea Biancani: “Zero tolerance”
“Pesaro is a safe city and we want it to remain so. For this reason, we must never lower our guard. Behaviors like those we saw last night, in a very central area of the city, are intolerable and we must do everything possible to identify those responsible and provide an immediate and concrete response.” This is the comment from Mayor Andrea Biancani on what happened the other night.
“Zero tolerance. I do not want episodes like these to be considered normal or inevitable in Pesaro. Fortunately, in our city, people still get outraged by these behaviors, and that is not at all taken for granted. It means they care about Pesaro, that they demand a safe, controlled city that respects people and public spaces. It is precisely this collective attention that we must preserve.”
The responsible must be found
The mayor took action this morning as soon as he learned of the incident. “I personally spoke with the commander and deputy commander of the local police asking to immediately start all necessary checks and, if necessary, to recall specialized personnel to duty. I also requested that they immediately coordinate with other law enforcement agencies. In cases like these, timeliness is essential, also to quickly acquire footage from public and private cameras before any recordings are overwritten. The checks have already started and we hope that the available footage will allow clear identification of those responsible.”

“We will not stand by and watch”
And he continues: “Those who commit acts of violence or damage the city must know that we will not stand by and watch. Once those responsible are identified, the Municipality will consider all actions allowed by law to protect the city and seek compensation for any damages caused. Those who do wrong must be held accountable for their actions.”
Biancani also recalls other incidents that occurred in recent days, including the theft at the Ratti store: “That was also a serious episode and the speed with which control activities were carried out shows how important the daily work of law enforcement is. They have my thanks. However, these episodes remind us that we cannot lower our attention.”
“Comprehensive interventions”
And again: “As an Administration, we are implementing a series of interventions all going in the same direction: more controls, strengthening shifts and greater coordination between local police and law enforcement, video surveillance, and stricter rules for evenings and events, all also thanks to the coordination of the Prefecture. We have introduced measures against the bad nightlife, from the ban on take-away sales of drinks in glass containers to the obligations of supervision and cleaning for those organizing events. We have also signed the Urban Security Pact with the Prefecture and the Region, which further strengthens integrated work in the territory.”
