Bologna, September 1, 2026 – The fight to demand “truth and justice for Fakir” moves to the university area, in the Department of Letters. It will take place at via Zamboni 38, a historic site of occupations by generations of students, collectives, and antagonistic groups, particularly by the Cua collective, the national event in the name of Abderrahim, the 42-year-old who died during a police stop in via Italo Svevo, in Pilastro, on Sunday, July 19, which was launched on the occasion of the public assembly on July 22 in piazza Lucio Dalla.

The ‘call’ from Bolognina arrives near the Rectorate headquarters
The ’call’ from Bolognina thus arrives near the Rectorate headquarters for a whole day of “solidarity, discussion, and fundraising” promoted by Plat (Social Intervention Platform), Sì Cobas, and migrant communities. The initiative will occupy the area from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., during which “working groups, a general assembly, and a concert” are scheduled, expected to conclude the event. It will be held where, at the end of October 2025, the Avs MEP Ilaria Salis was welcomed, guest of a discussion after the occupation of the building on via Don Minzoni.

A month and a half after Fakir’s disappearance, activists continue to demand “justice and truth,” which for the promoters still “do not exist for a violent death due to an abuse of power and recorded on video minute by minute,” reads the post announcing the initiative. The text states that, after the death of the Moroccan citizen, “Bologna has taken a side, generating a powerful response of anger and solidarity,” also citing “the July 20 downtown riot,” which set the historic center on fire and injured 64 officers. “It is necessary to commit ourselves so that this mobilization has lasting power, fighting racism and police violence and creating popular self-defense.”
