Angeli had studied Law in Macerata. Degree on time and less than two years later also in Political Science. The job at the United Nations – as he told Carlino – was not in his plans. He had happily landed at the Foreign Office of Guzzini, but a friend made him take the exam for the Foreign Trade Institute at the last minute, thanks to which the doors opened for UN assignments. The first was in Pinochet’s Chile, it was 1987.

After retirement: between Macerata and Rome

Among the most significant experiences, three years in Sarajevo during the war, then Iraq and Kosovo. Recently, after retirement, he divided his time between Macerata and Rome. Last year, with the courtesy that distinguished him, he spoke to Carlino as an honored guest at the celebration for the newspaper’s 140th anniversary.
