Ancona, September 6, 2026 – The Sea Festival concluded this evening at the Old Port with the fireworks show that this year featured new shapes and lights, including three-dimensional Japanese-style rings, never before used in Italy and exclusive for this occasion. With today’s events, four days of celebration, identity, sharing, discoveries, and confirmations have concluded for a community that has found and continues to find the origin and development of its existence in and from the sea. Not by chance, the chosen title for the Festival, ‘A Sea of Peace’, linked to the eight hundred years since the death of Saint Francis, reaffirms the desire to see the sea as an element that unites, not divides, creates bridges and not walls.

And precisely on this subject, today at 6 PM, from the dock where the Saint of Assisi embarked, the procession to bring the statue of Stella Maris to the sea departed, kept in the small chapel below the Merchants’ Loggia.

Last night, there was also success for a first and unique show of its kind in Ancona, in the square of the Cathedral of San Ciriaco where the concert ‘I have already come here… what if I returned?’ took place with 150 choristers and 35 musicians from the Diocesan Choir and the Zonamusica Orchestra – The City of Sounds, conducted by maestro Mauro Tabasso.
