Marano sul Panaro (Modena), September 6, 2026 – A tragic road accident occurred this afternoon in Casona di Marano, along the Fondovalle road. An 82-year-old woman lost her life in the collision between her car and another vehicle.

The accident
The dynamics of the accident are still under investigation by the local police of the Unione Terre di Castelli, who intervened on the scene to carry out surveys and accurately reconstruct what happened. According to an initial reconstruction, the elderly woman was traveling along the Fondovalle in her Fiat Punto and was returning home when the violent impact with a large-displacement Audi occurred.
Among the hypotheses under consideration by the officers is also that of a tragically ended overtaking attempt. The impact was particularly violent and there was nothing that could be done for the woman.
Two others injured
Two men, aged 30 and 40, were traveling in the other car involved and sustained minor injuries. The local police investigations will continue to clarify the exact dynamics of the accident and establish any responsibilities.
