From an initial reconstruction, still to be fully ascertained by the agents of the Alto Ferrarese Local Police, a child just over one year old was playing with a ball, when he was involuntarily hit by a car, driven by a family member, who was performing a maneuver in the external courtyard of the house. Noticing what had happened, he immediately called for help.
The rescue and transport to Maggiore Hospital
Among the first to arrive were the ambulance and 118 medical personnel, who, seeing the extent of the impact, urgently requested the intervention of the air ambulance. After initial checks and stabilization of the child, who sustained several limb traumas, he was urgently airlifted to the ‘Maggiore’ hospital in Bologna. His conditions are serious and continuously monitored, with a reserved prognosis, but he is not in life-threatening danger.
From what is learned, the child suffered several fractures to the upper and lower limbs. Great fear for the parents. Great fright and anguish for what happened to the child. Also on site was the Alto Ferrarese Local Police patrol; the agents carried out the necessary investigations to precisely ascertain what happened and collect various testimonies, including that of the driver of the car.
Saletti: “The child has always been conscious”
The mayor of Bondeno, Simone Saletti, upon hearing the news, commented: “I wanted to get news from our local police; it was an involuntary accident. From the information we have, the child is conscious and has sustained some fractures. We hope he recovers soon; it was a great scare, and the relative who was in the car is very sorry and distraught.”
