Misano (Rimini), September 13, 2026 – The colors of Marco Simoncelli have brought luck to the Gresini team which wanted to celebrate Sic with a special livery for the San Marino GP, in the place that bears the name of the Coriano rider. Riding the special Ducati of the Faenza team, in fact, Alex Marquez stood on the second step of the podium in Misano, behind his brother Marc who triumphed with the Ducati.
The Marquez family leading the San Marino GP
The Marquez family took control of the San Marino GP after the fall of the Rimini rider Bezzecchi on the Aprilia between turn 12 and turn 13, the exit of Pecco Bagnaia on the sixth lap and the double overtaking of Martin who ends up off the podium, overtaken first by Pedro Acosta’s KTM and then by the other Gresini Ducati, ridden by Fermin Aldeguer.
A situation that will remain unchanged until the finish line, taking away from Martin the sole lead of the rider standings now shared with Marquez, while teammate Bezzecchi remains in third place but 33 points behind the leading duo.

The enthusiasm and emotion of the fans
The initiative of the special livery with the colors of Marco Simoncelli for the Ducati of the Gresini team sparked the enthusiasm of the fans from the presentation: under the photos published on the social channels of the Faenza team in recent days and, in particular, today after the race when two celebration videos were published among applause and shouts from the team and even another jump on the bike by Alex Marquez. And under the hashtag #CiaoSic a wave of affection overflowed, with touching comments like “Alex + Sic VICTORYYYYY!!!” and “Even in Heaven it will be a great party”. And tears flowed abundantly today in Misano, given the great result.

Congratulations from Governor de Pascale and Councillor Frisoni
Compliments did not wait from the President of the Emilia Romagna Region, Michele de Pascale, and the regional councillor for Tourism and Sport, Roberta Frisoni: “Congratulations to Marc Márquez and the entire Ducati team for this great victory. The same for his brother Alex, second on the Ducati of the Gresini Team from Faenza. Seeing bikes born and developed here win in Misano, in front of thousands of passionate fans, is a great emotion and a source of pride for all Emilia-Romagna.”
“Behind a success like this – emphasize de Pascale and Frisoni – there is not only a great rider and a great bike. Ducati is one of the strongest symbols of Made in Italy and Italian engineering in the world, a story of talent, work and the ability to innovate that from Borgo Panigale continues to compete and win at the highest international levels. And let’s be clear: these things happen in Emilia-Romagna because here there is a unique ecosystem in the world, not replicable elsewhere. It is the result of an industrial history and skills built over time, but above all the ability of this land to create a system and transform talent into innovation and results. Congratulations that we also reiterate to the beautiful second place of the Gresini Team.”
