Amandola (Fermo) July 18, 2026 – Fear for a fire at the monastery of San Lorenzo that led to the evacuation of ten nuns as a precaution, accompanied to the garden of the facility.
It was around 1:30 PM when the firefighters from the Amandola Detachment were alerted by some residents who had noticed white smoke rising from the roof of the religious building located in the historic center of Amandola.
The architectural context of the structure, however, made operations difficult, so that three more teams from Fermo were called for support, one of which with a ladder truck, and they quickly extinguished the flames; by around 4 PM everything was back to normal.

Much fear and fortunately little damage and no injuries; the firefighters carried out investigations, it is not excluded that the flames started from the wooden beams of the attic due to the high temperatures.
