Valles (Bolzano), July 16, 2026 – “By now I’ve lost count of the training camps I’ve done…”. In Valles it is the day of Lorenzo De Silvestri, who has precisely twenty-one training camps in his career and specifically with Bologna has reached seven. That’s why no one better than him, the long-time captain, can accompany the rossoblù group in the transition from Vincenzo Italiano to Domenico Tedesco. “Obviously, when there is a coaching change, there is always something new – explains Lollo -. We are starting to get to know the coach: I have to say he is very confident about what he has in mind, he has clear concepts that he is trying to explain to us.”

First impression?
“The coach is very innovative: it’s the first time I’ve heard multiple languages spoken instantly, and this is very positive since we are a group of many different nationalities. Tedesco pays great attention to details, even in the presentation of training sessions: so definitely the impact is very positive.”
The impact with Valles, on the other hand, was less lively than the last two summers, when up here at 1373 meters came the wave of enthusiasm for a Champions League qualification and the Coppa Italia victory. What goal can this Bologna set for itself?
“It’s too early to say. It will be a difficult season, also for managing expectations. Not having the three commitments, we will be able to manage the week better, but that doesn’t mean we won’t have more pressure: because one thinks that not having the three competitions makes it easier. Instead, the competition for the seven spots is very high. We have shown we can be at certain levels, we will try to continue doing so.”
Inevitably, De Silvestri was asked about the progress of the renewal works for Orsolini.

“I spoke with Ricky: but what should I say to him? He is a symbol, he has been here forever, I don’t like to get involved in personal choices..”.
Lollo’s personal choice was to continue, and in this choice Tedesco played an important role who, among the first things after his appointment, called De Silvestri.
“I thank him, I appreciated it as a gesture, it was not obvious: he wanted to understand my wishes.” Precise wishes: “I know what my role here is. I want to be an example for the younger ones, showing them that I give everything at every training session. Then clearly I set myself small personal goals: I would like to enter the top 30 players with the most appearances in Serie A history. I only need four more.”
