From via Ugo Bassi to via Veneziani, right in front of the Prefecture windows, the day after the night of guerrilla warfare, sparked by the march called for the disappearance of Abdherraim Fakir, lasting at least four hours, leaves a bitter taste. At the corner of those streets, the Unipol headquarters was devastated. Around, the walls ‘speak’ the language of hatred: “Cop who committed suicide, half forgiven”, above the storefront of the Marina Rinaldi shop on Ugo Bassi. “Murderous cops,” “more dead cops,” and “fire to the guards” are among the most repeated insults; someone during yesterday’s night of madness also wrote “Acab.”

The damage – the count has yet to begin, this is only visual – is multiple, including the devastation of the construction site located between Rizzoli, Indipendenza, and Ugo Bassi streets, where part of the recently redone pavement was also destroyed. Some public establishments were also hit: activists took umbrellas and chairs from the venues precisely to throw them at the deployed Mobile Unit. Two cars parked outside the Palazzo d’Accursio headquarters, a Panda and a Fiat Punto, were also set on fire. Firefighters had to intervene for the first one.
The number of injured police officers is growing, and it is well over a dozen.
