Rimini, August 27, 2026 – A story of domestic violence against the children and the wife, who were repeatedly beaten and mistreated by the father and husband, a 53-year-old man of Bangladeshi origin. Precisely for family abuse he was arrested by the Morciano carabinieri (Rimini), after the fifteen-year-old daughter had attempted suicide by ingesting insecticide.
In recent months, moreover, the 53-year-old, already investigated in the past for the same reason, had started the procedures for transferring the daughter to Bangladesh, for a arranged marriage.
Pre-trial detention in prison
The carabinieri executed a pre-trial detention order issued by Judge Andrea Falaschetti, issued at the end of the preliminary investigations coordinated by the deputy prosecutor of Rimini, Davide Ercolani. Against the suspect, owner of a seasonal kebab shop on the Romagna Riviera, several confirmed episodes began in Bangladesh against the children, from early childhood.
The young children were beaten and hit
The 53-year-old, according to family reports, also allegedly beat the four-year-old son on the chest with the broom handle, as well as hitting the daughter, then 13 years old, in the abdomen, causing internal injuries.

Physical violence when defending mom and siblings also against the just adult son, with a serious disability. It was precisely because of the repeated physical and psychological abuse suffered, such as slaps, punches, and repeatedly banging his head against the wall, that last year the girl attempted suicide by ingesting insecticide, ending up in the hospital emergency room.
The procedures for the arranged marriage
In recent months, moreover, the 53-year-old, already investigated in the past for the same reason, had started the procedures for the transfer of the daughter to Bangladesh for an arranged marriage. Only thanks to the intervention of the law enforcement agencies, who placed the family unit in a protected facility, was the worst avoided. In a meeting with social workers, the wife and the three children told everything, asking not to return home anymore. To the carabinieri, the mother also recounted the daughter’s suicide attempt, finally caused by a serious episode during a Muslim festival, when the father beat her by banging her head against the wall because she had been to the park.
