Rimini, September 11, 2026 – First ‘duels’ for a place in the sun in Rimini. Yesterday the first calls for tenders expired to award the concessions of 27 beach areas. These are all areas intended for umbrellas and sunbeds in the northern Rimini area, between Torre Pedrera, Viserbella, and Viserba, at bathing establishments that are not on public beaches (and therefore under concession) but private. However, the tenders that ended yesterday still represent a first test, in view of the tenders to be made in 2027 to assign the concessions of all beach activities.
About 107 thousand square meters
At stake this time there were 27 beach areas: about 107 thousand square meters of areas for umbrellas and sunbeds. The duration for the concessions established by the Municipality – based on the 2022 law – is 5 years. Each operator can secure only one area. But looking at the number of applications received, some tried to apply for 2 or more areas: the offers received at Palazzo Garampi were a total of 38. Now “the appointment of the judging commission will proceed – explain the administration – The opening of the envelopes is already scheduled for the beginning of next week, with the examination of the technical offers received. In the following sessions, the evaluation of the offers and the assignment of the related scores for each lot will proceed, based on the criteria indicated in the tenders.”

The winner is the one who makes the most advantageous offer
The concessions, which will last 5 years, will be awarded based on “the most economically advantageous offer.” The evaluation criteria adopted by Palazzo Garampi followed the directives set by law 118 of 2022, since the ministry of Infrastructure’s standard tender is not yet ready. And as explained by councilor Valentina Ridolfi, “the quality and conditions of the services offered will be evaluated by the commission, as well as specific services aimed at families and disabled people, aspects related to worker safety and environmental protection.”
