Rimini, July 24, 2026 – In just under a month, Pope Leo XIV will visit Rimini and its Diocese. The Romagna city is preparing for the great event, which will take place on Saturday, August 22, and will involve not only the ecclesial community but the entire territory. The desire expressed by the Bishop of Rimini, Nicolò Anselmi, is that the Holy Father’s visit may become “an occasion for encounter, faith, and renewed communion.”
How to participate in the Mass
The central moment of the day will be the celebration of the Mass presided over by the Holy Father in Piazza Boscovich. To participate, it is necessary to have a pass, which can be requested from your parish or reference aggregation; alternatively, it is possible to request it for access to the beach sectors by filling out the online form. For people with disabilities, a dedicated area has been set up at the free beach; in this case too, access requires a reservation.
Finally, passes for faithful coming from outside the diocese will be delivered on Friday, August 21, from 3 PM to 6 PM, and on Saturday, August 22, from 9 AM to 12 PM at a room in the parish of San Girolamo (viale Principe Amedeo). The entire area dedicated to the Mass will be divided into sectors distinguished by different colors. There will be a limited number of seats and approximately 25,000 places on the beach.
Other activities
On the eve of the Holy Father’s visit to Rimini, a moment of prayer was organized, aimed especially at young people. On Friday, August 21, from 9 PM, a vigil will be held in the Church of San Nicolò, together with Bishop Anselmi.

On Saturday, August 22, Pope Leo XIV will also dedicate time to the most vulnerable people. He will meet, in the Basilica Cathedral, the elderly, people with disabilities, residents of nursing homes, prisoners, elderly priests from the Casa del Clero, young people from San Patrignano, and guests of the Sant’Aquilina Social Emergency Room.
