Correggio (Reggio Emilia), August 24, 2026 – There had been some changes in the pizza order at a festive table in the restaurant. And when the manager came forward to clarify the situation, he was attacked with a slap in the face, falling to the ground and sustaining injuries that ultimately healed in about twenty days.
The Carabinieri of Correggio, the town where the events took place, have reported a 48-year-old man, resident there, for personal injury. The incident happened a few months ago, but now a formal complaint has been filed. It all started from the change of some pizzas compared to what was agreed upon at the reservation. With the dining room full and the kitchen at full speed, the staff had worked to accommodate the new requests.

But from the table, someone started grumbling about the waiting times. Once served, however, some customers challenged the owner for an attitude considered arrogant. Tempers flared, with the owner trying to calm the situation, but he was hit with a slap. The proprietor was then treated at the emergency room in Reggio. This was followed by a complaint that has now led to the report.

In recent days, the case of the disrespectful order in a venue on Viale Ceccarini in Riccione had sparked debate. The 17-year-old waiter had sent to the kitchen an order that read “this one pissed me off, burns the eggs and spits in them.” The bar owner tried to lighten the mood by posting an ironic video. The insulted girl, Maria Clara, interviewed by Carlino, said: “No to the public shaming of the 17-year-old waiter, but I expect his apologies. The venue jokes? Too easy.”
