Camerano (Ancona), August 23, 2026 – Fatal accident along the Cameranese: a 73-year-old woman loses her life, late this morning, around 1 p.m., along the Cameranese road, at the gates of Camerano, in the section after the Arco degli Angeli, heading uphill.
For reasons under investigation, a Fiat Panda, driven by an elderly woman, and a Volkswagen Polo, driven by a 21-year-old woman residing in Camerano, collided head-on near a curve.
The driver of the Volkswagen Polo, who was going downhill, would not have had the chance to avoid the impact with the Fiat Panda, which was traveling uphill.
Following the violent collision, the Fiat Panda went backward for several hundred meters, ending its run inside a sunflower field, against a lighting pole.

The rescuers of the Croce Gialla of Camerano immediately intervened, reaching the Panda driver and promptly starting cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers. The 118 emergency medical vehicle from the Cras post in Ancona also intervened on site, whose personnel continued resuscitation attempts.
Despite the rescuers’ efforts, nothing could be done for the woman other than to declare her death. The young driver of the Volkswagen Polo, 21 years old, was rescued and transported to the Emergency Room of the Torrette Regional Hospital for examinations and treatment.
The Ancona Fire Brigade and the Osimo Mobile Unit Carabinieri also intervened at the accident site, engaged in rescue operations, securing the area, and conducting the necessary investigations to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the accident.
