Brescello (Reggio Emilia), June 6, 2026 – Tragedy during the night in Brescello: a fatal accident at 3:30 AM along State Road 62 ‘Cisa’, between Lentigione and Brescello, in the Reggio Emilia area. The crash occurred near the Auto Zatti dealership, for reasons yet to be ascertained, a Volkswagen Passat hit two boys who were traveling on a bicycle and a skateboard, close to the roadway, next to a small embankment. In the impact, one of the two young men, a boy, Zaccaria Giovanni Abden, 19 years old, originally from and residing in Pontedera, in the Pisa area, lost his life.
The car, driven by a 43-year-old man residing in Sorbolo Mezzani, did not notice their presence and, in complete darkness, was unable to avoid the impact. Both were thrown to the side of the road.
Attempts to revive the 19-year-old were futile
Emergency services arrived with three ambulances, two medical car crews, and a nursing vehicle. The 19-year-old’s condition immediately appeared critical. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was performed for a long time, but unfortunately, it did not revive the young man. The other boy who was hit, 18 years old, also from Pontedera, was taken in serious condition to Maggiore Hospital in Parma. He appeared conscious during the initial phase of rescue but was in an evident state of shock. It seems they were heading to a party in the Parma area at the time of the accident.
A 43-year-old man was driving the car
The car was driven by a 43-year-old man, originally from Naples and residing in Sorbolo Mezzani, in the Parma area, who was taken to the hospital in Guastalla, physically unharmed but in shock over what happened. The vehicles involved in the accident have been impounded for now, but the victim’s body is already available to the family. The Carabinieri from the Cadelbosco sopra Crostolo station intervened at the scene of the accident to carry out legal investigations and manage traffic. Investigations by the Carabinieri are still ongoing to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the incident.
