“He must pay for being a snitch”, is heard from one of the ten, mostly minors, while one of the two boys is pushed under the irrigation system’s spray. According to the group, the two had accused some of them of vandalism. For this reason, they were lured into a trap, taken to a remote location, and held captive for four hours before being released. The parents filed a complaint with the carabinieri, also handing over videos and chats in which one of the group invites the boys to the park, threatening to beat him if he did not follow.

I don’t understand how there can be such young boys with this cruelty in their souls, with such an empty heart,” says the mother to Gazzettino. “When we saw the video, we realized the seriousness of the situation. It was not just a prank, there was cruelty.”

The episode reportedly occurred on July 23. The boys, minors, have been reported to the Prosecutor’s Office. The charges are unlawful detention, robbery, and assault. Almost all the youths have been identified by the carabinieri. They are all roughly the same age as the victims, of Italian nationality, and do not come from disadvantaged backgrounds.
