Rimini, June 6, 2026 – A violent crash at the intersection and several injured. This is the toll of the accident that occurred in the early afternoon of Saturday in Viserba, where a public bus and a Carabinieri patrol car collided at the intersection between via Sacramora and via Morri, a few steps from the Carabinieri station.

How the accident happened
The accident occurred shortly after 2 PM. According to an initial reconstruction, the Start Romagna line 8 bus was traveling along via Sacramora in the direction of Rimini city center when, upon reaching the traffic light-controlled intersection, it collided with an Alfa Romeo Giulia from the Radiomobile unit which was crossing the intersection coming from via Morri and heading towards the mountains. The patrol was responding to an emergency and was proceeding with its acoustic and visual devices activated.
The impact was particularly violent and caused moments of great tension among those present and among the passengers on board the public transport vehicle. The rescue machine was immediately activated, with ambulances, a medical car, and 118 health personnel arriving on site.
The injured. Air ambulance for an elderly man
Five people were injured. Among them are the two Carabinieri who were on board the patrol car and three bus passengers. Two bus users and the two military personnel were transported to Rimini’s Infermi hospital for checks and treatment. However, the conditions of an elderly passenger were more delicate, for whom the health workers requested the intervention of an air ambulance. The man was transferred to the Bufalini hospital in Cesena.
Rescues and road closure
Among the first to intervene to provide assistance to the injured was also an Army medical officer off duty who was nearby at the time of the crash.

To allow rescue operations and secure the area, the stretch of road affected by the accident was temporarily closed to traffic. Traffic in the area experienced heavy slowdowns, with repercussions on the road network of Viserba and neighboring streets.
Rimini Local Police officers intervened on site, carrying out investigations and initiating checks to reconstruct the dynamics of the collision in detail. Technical verifications and collected testimonies will now clarify precisely what happened in the seconds leading up to the impact between the bus and the Carabinieri car.
For several minutes, the area remained manned by emergency vehicles, attracting the attention of numerous residents and passing motorists. A scene that brought to mind how delicate city intersections can be, especially when emergency vehicles or vehicles involved in urgent interventions are involved.
