“You are fantastic”: Vasco Rossi meets the children of Mosti school, emotions for the baby musicians

Ferrara, June 6, 2026 – His name is Vittorio, his surname is Borri. Profession, teacher. A ‘Vaschiano’ for life. Tell him a word and he’ll attach the verse of that song to it. Of the Komandante, of course. And he’ll even put it to music with his guitar, his other great passion. Yes, because “Maestro Vittorio”, as his IV and V grade students at the Ercole Mosti primary school in Ferrara call him, managed to accomplish something extraordinary for a group of students. Taking them, on Friday, to meet him directly, Vasco, before the big opening show.

The meeting with Vasco Rossi

Nineteen very young students from classes VA and VB, who are following a musical project started by Borri 17 years ago, accompanied by six teachers: in addition to Vittorio, Andrea Brina – another big fan of Blasco, strictly on the lawn, Friday evening, singing –, Valentina Rizzuti, Roberta Pagani, Francesca Picardi and Floriana Peracchia. But let’s start from the beginning. Rewind.

How the idea was born

The ‘crazy’ idea was born last summer, immediately after the administration’s announcement to bring Vasco back, 39 years later – the last time was April 28, 1987 – to the city. Double show, June 5-6. But why, Borri asked himself, not ask the staff of the Dozza rocker for a meeting with some of the young musicians from Mosti to talk about our musical project? It doesn’t happen, but if it does… Maestro Vittorio thus began to search for someone from Vasco’s staff to contact to try and establish a dialogue. Tania Sacs, his long-time manager would be the interlocutor. An epistolary relationship began between the two, becoming increasingly fruitful. Until, a few weeks ago, the announcement came: the meeting would happen. Speechless.

The appointment and arrival backstage

The maestro is stunned, beside himself, he informs the school principal and teachers. The Show is about to begin. What I know is that inside me everything is logical, that festive atmosphere I have in my stomach… The appointment arrives on Thursday, on the eve of Vasco’s first big concert: “Meet tomorrow in via Orlando Furioso at 5 PM sharp.” There, the festive troupe will be loaded onto a shuttle and transported directly backstage. That is, into the heart of the concert. No small potatoes.

The arrival of Vasco Rossi

Nineteen young musicians and their teachers board. It’s just us. “Welcome, Vasco is arriving,” the staff confides. Enthusiasm is sky-high, Vittorio’s and his students’ eyes sparkle, their skin tingles, Albachiara and Vita Spericolata are sung. Friday, June 5, 2026, the clock strikes 6 PM. A door suddenly opens. Blue cap backward, sunglasses, denim jacket: here’s Vasco.

Photos, autographs and many tips

“Welcome, guys.” Says the Kom, in flesh and blood. “We had so many things planned – Maestro Borri recounts with incredible enthusiasm – but the emotion was immense.” The meeting lasts about fifteen minutes, enough time for photos, questions, autographs on t-shirts, caps, banners, guitars, and many tips from Blasco. Very accommodating and always smiling with teachers and especially with his young fans.

“You are beautiful”

“You are beautiful”, he says. Then he posts the story on his Instagram channel: “’E. Mosti’ Primary School Ferrara, Fantastic’”. All too beautiful. Wonderful. “You are ‘A Better World’,” he will shout in the evening to the 60,000 fans at Parco Urbano. Like those 19 men and women of the future met shortly before, with water bottles, sandwiches, and many dreams well-sealed in their backpacks. Sometimes, if you truly believe, some dreams even come true. Like the one that little Vittorio, a huge Vasco fan, kept in his backpack many years ago. He grew up to become a father of three children and a great Maestro.
