Death of Fakir, Ris and prosecutor return to via Svevo: new inspection, a drone in flight for surveys

Bologna, August 3, 2026 – Ris, mobile squad and prosecutor’s office return to via Svevo 6. An inspection is currently underway by investigators to carry out new checks at the place where Abderrahim Fakir, the 42-year-old who died at the end of a police intervention on Sunday, July 19, passed away. They are using a drone for the surveys. Among the hypotheses are also checks on the footage for perspectives and to recreate the timeline of all the material, with the use of a 3D machine planned. The reason behind the latest check is not yet clear, which also involves the contribution of the Ris carabinieri for scientific investigations.

The procedure

The prosecutor’s office opened a manslaughter procedure under model 45-bis after Fakir’s death, in which the two police officers who intervened to contain Fakir and the four 118 paramedics who arrived have been registered (not as suspects).

A phone is still missing from the call

In recent days it has emerged that a phone is still missing from the investigators’ call. A device to which another recently used number registered to Fakir would also be linked. However, it is not certain that the ongoing inspection and surveys are related to this circumstance.
