San Lazzaro (Bologna) August 3, 2026 – “How can one accept that such a person with heart is gone?”. These are the shocked words of some residents of San Lazzaro upon hearing the sudden death of 45-year-old Alberto Malavolti, a respected citizen, city councilor in San Lazzaro for FdI, as well as a longtime employee of the local Comet.

The body was found in the condominium area of via Piave
Malavolti was found dead shortly after 9 a.m. in the small condominium green area of via Piave after falling from a window of the condominium stairs. On site, alerted by some shocked residents, arrived the 118 emergency medical team with ambulance and emergency vehicle who could do nothing but confirm the death of the 45-year-old.

Despite the rescue efforts, nothing could be done for the man
Shortly after, the carabinieri from the San Lazzaro di Savena station arrived with several patrols, along with forensic colleagues, the medical examiner, and the on-duty public prosecutor. The investigations to determine the causes of the incident continued for several hours, almost until 2 p.m.
Mayor Pillati: “Close to his family”
At the moment, no hypothesis is excluded: according to what is currently known, an autopsy will be ordered on the body of the 45-year-old. Immediate condolences from the San Lazzaro city administration through the mayor, Marilena Pillati: “The passing of city councilor Alberto Malavolti affects all of us. On behalf of the city administration and personally, I want to express the sincerest condolences and closeness to his family, loved ones, colleagues, and the members of the Brothers of Italy council group. In this moment of great pain, we stand with respect and emotion around all those who cared for him.” Malavolti leaves behind his wife and two young children.
