“At night I can’t sleep and I have panic attacks. I have no salary, I have a disabled mother to support, and these people continue to be dangerous and aggressive. By now, we will exceed 20,000 euros in expenses, legal and otherwise, that will never be recovered.” The outburst of Nadia Albertini, 61 years old, comes after almost three years “of hell,” during which every attempt to evict the apartment she owns and rented to an Italian family has been “in vain.” Both homes are part of the same building, with Mrs. Albertini and her elderly mother living in one and the tenants in the other.

The property was in excellent condition: new electrical system, residential area (Belvedere, ed.), garage, garden, and complete furnishings.” After just fourteen months “they stopped paying the rent, they no longer paid even the condominium fees nor the water consumption.” To date, she continues, “the economic damage exceeds 15,000 euros ‘just’ between unpaid rents, IMU, taxes, condominium fees, and water,” to which the lawyers’ fees are added.
Silvia’s shock: “They even sued me for stalking”
Meanwhile, in fact, a series of complaints and legal actions created further tension: “I started sending them emails to ask them to settle what was owed – she recounts – and they sued me for stalking.” It was June 2025: the lady turned to a lawyer. Meanwhile, Albertini reports, acts of vandalism began to occur: “Insults carved on my mother’s garage door, writings on the building walls – she recounts – not to mention the mailbox, broken several times or into which rubbish is regularly placed, which we sometimes also find on the doormat.”

The lady then proceeds with a complaint for property damage, then another for stalking: “They shouted insults and threats at us continuously on the stairs.” In April 2026, the lady was served a warning: “They asked me for 35,000 euros in compensation for having asked again to pay the rent.” The first eviction attempt was set for May 12, 2026: “The bailiff told me it would be an informative visit – says Albertini – so I thoroughly presented the situation, even starting to write him emails. Despite this, the visit took place almost three months after the expiration of the additional five and a half months granted by the judge after the eviction hearing.”

“I do not receive any salary and I am not entitled to any financial support”
The second visit was on July 15: “They were here for more than an hour only to tell me that they could not evict because social services were not present – she concludes –. A complete scam.” Now, according to reports, for another visit, one must wait until August 25. “In the meantime, I am on unpaid leave – explains Albertini –. My mother needs continuous assistance, even being fed during meals. I do not receive any salary and am not entitled to any financial support. Living with her, her income is considered: a pension and an accompanying allowance. We are forced to use that money to cover the debts caused by these people.”
“This situation has destroyed our lives”
A situation that “has destroyed our lives – the lady vents –. I wrote to councilors, city council members, the mayor, the deputy mayor, and social services, without getting any concrete help. The only support has been from lawyers, naturally paid. I wonder where the institutions are. It is a shameful and intolerable thing, which gives the feeling that those who do not respect the rules are much more protected than honest people.”
De Lucia: “It is unacceptable that a citizen remains alone for months”
The city councilor of Coalizione Civica, Dario De Lucia, who the woman turned to for support, also intervenes on the matter: “Here we are not talking about a large real estate income, but about an apartment that represents a fundamental source of income for an already fragile family – comments the councilor –. Institutions must intervene to protect all parties involved, but it is unacceptable that a citizen remains alone for months, bearing costs, legal expenses, and economic consequences of a situation they can no longer manage. Social protection cannot turn into the abandonment of those who suffer damage.”
