Bologna, August 4, 2026 – It is the best month ever in the history of Marconi. New passenger record for Bologna Airport. In July, in fact, despite uncertainties related to the geopolitical situation, passengers at Marconi reached 1,136,375, with an increase of 3.0% compared to the same month in 2025.
It is the best month ever for the first airport of Emilia-Romagna. The greatest increase was in passengers on international flights, 842,246, with an increase of 3.8% over July 2025. Passengers on domestic flights also grew, 294,129, an increase of 1.0% over the same month in 2025. Air movements in July were 7,849, up 3.3% over 2025, while air freight transported was 4,184 tons, with an increase of 4.1% over the same month in 2025.
Catania, Tirana and Barcelona the favorite destinations
Monday, July 27, with 40,105 passengers, was the busiest day of the month. More generally, the daily average in July was about 36,600 passengers per day, the highest ever for Marconi. Considering that the Dall’Ara Stadium in Bologna has a maximum capacity for football matches of about 36,500 seats, it is as if the airport had filled the stadium for 31 consecutive days.

The preferred destinations in July were Catania, Tirana and Barcelona in the top three (as in previous months), followed by Cagliari, Palermo, Brindisi, Olbia, Bucharest, Istanbul and London Heathrow in the “top ten” of the month. In the first seven months of the year, total Marconi passengers were 6,621,616, an increase of 3.5% over the corresponding period in 2025. Movements from January to July were 46,935 (+2.9%), while air freight transported was 25,097 tons, down 4.7% from 2025.
