Under the arcades, in front of the Rivelli stationery store, several vehicles of the Carabinieri and local Police arrived, called by passersby’s phone calls.

The dog dragged along the road
The man, a fifty-year-old originally from Fossombrone and already known to the authorities, reportedly arrived in the area dragging with him a Corso dog now exhausted. According to eyewitness accounts collected on site, the animal could no longer walk, probably also due to the heat, and once he reached the arcades he collapsed on the sidewalk.
“He was dragging him because the dog no longer walked behind him. When he lay down, he started kicking him. At one point he didn’t move,” one of the witnesses recounts. It was some passersby, shocked by the scene, who immediately called 112.
The reaction against the officers
Upon the arrival of the Radiomobile carabinieri, the fifty-year-old reportedly continued to shout and rage. The officers confirm resistance to a public official. According to witnesses, the man also tried to hit them while they were trying to immobilize him and get him into the service car.
The fifty-year-old, who reportedly repeated that he was awake and “in after for 48 hours,” was finally stopped and taken to the carabinieri barracks in Fano. His position is now under investigation.
The Corso taken to the clinic
Meanwhile, operators from the Ast veterinary service arrived. The dog, initially motionless, slowly raised its head and was loaded onto a stretcher and transferred to the clinic to undergo necessary examinations and treatments.
The local Police remained on site, collecting testimonies from the people present and from the owners of the businesses facing the arcades. The animal’s condition and the charges that will be brought against the man for what happened remain to be verified.
